About the event
Using evidence-based best practices, MACC’s Equity Project Training series delivers informative and interactive
workshops. Each module provides opportunities for participants to recognize the connectivity of systems that
perpetuate racism and exacerbate equity issues in the criminal justice system. These modules demonstrate how to create solutions to mitigate equity issues. Upon completion of each virtual workshop, participants will be provided with a toolkit and continuing education to assist them as they work to improve equity in the criminal justice system. This is Phase I of a developing certification in cultural competence in criminal justice.
Objectives:
- Analyze and identify critical issues
- Understand how history has contributed to contemporary trends and issues
- Develop and implement practical solutions for creating equity
- Reflect on systemic institutional racism and its impact as a social determinant of health in mental health
